Location (Google Maps): North Oakville/Neyagawa Dr.Pace: Leisurely – 3km/hr or less
Terrain: Moderate – Some hills and/or some poor footing
Distance: 8 – 9 km.Description
This trail system is a little known area of Oakville. Many of the trails here are originally horseback riding trails. Today they are used by cyclists and hikers. Beginning at the ice arena on the west side of Neyagawa, the trails take you north and then west to the upper banks of the Sixteen Mile Creek. Without tree canopy the views to the river and beyond are wonderful. The trails go south to Lions’ Valley Park (only the brave go down here) and then back east to the start point. Bring a snack and water. You should be self sufficient. To get to the start point take Neyagawa north of Dundas. Turn left at the first traffic light (the arena is on your right) and travel until the road takes a sharp right and continue north to the last parking lot on your right. Hike starts at 10:00 am.
