Join me and apprentice hike leader, Mehrnoush Ahmadi, for the second of three connecting Toronto urban hikes, often hiked by Wayne Crockett. Part 1 took us from Castle Frank Subway Station to the end of the Kay Gardiner Beltline. In Part 2 we will hike the length of Prospect Cemetery from south to north, eventually linking up with the York Beltline which will take us in proximity to the end of Part 1. This section through the cemetery is challenging with its share of hills and ups and downs. The remainder of the hike will be relatively easier as we move our way east and then south and southeast through the Cedervale and Nordheimer Ravines. We will stop for Lunch at the Loblaws on St Clair before rejoining the ravine system and continuing southeast to Roycroft Park, emerging in the Republic of Rathnelly. Wayne jokingly commented on his FB page, “There was a revolution and no one called me?” From there we will link up with Ramsden Park to finish the hike at Rosedale Subway Station.

Public washrooms at the start of the hike at Joseph J. Piccininni Community Centre will be closed because of the holiday. Please try to find a washroom on route to the hike.

    Description

Join us for a enjoyable 2.5 hour loop hike on the Kortright Centre for Conservation trails in Kleinberg (beginners are welcome) and a delightful lunch before the club’s first in-person AGM since 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm. The theme of the meeting will be biodiversity with guest speaker Dr. Justina Ray who will be speaking on the topic after the business part of the meeting. Both the bus and lunch are being offered for a reduced fee and so a high turnout is needed for the success of the event. Please join us to reconnect with friends, make new friends and spend a fun and interactive day. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to get to know your TBTC better and to invite a friend or family member so they can learn what our club and the BT Conservancy is all about.

The online route for our morning hike can be found here: https://onthegomap.com/s/dfk1d9j7

Please note that you must register for the meeting and lunch separately from the hike registration. You can register for the AGM and Lunch on Eventbrite at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/524619770857

A reduced bus fare of $20.00 applies.
