    Description

    We will hike north to the end of Innis Lake Rd, follow the Main Trail, then continue on road allowance to the historic Dingle School. We will connect with the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail, hiking west to meet up with the Main Trail, south through the Dingle, then return to the cars. The short hike will return at the school. Bring snack/lunch.

    RESCHEDULED FROM LAST WEEK.  This is the 3rd in a series of 6 loop hikes; each hike is between 9-12km in length.  If you hike all 6 of the hikes in this series, or otherwise hike 60 km in Dufferin during 2025, you qualify for the 60th Anniversary badge.

    Bring a drink, a snack and ICERS.  There are some steep drop offs and the trail can be slippery, icy and muddy at this time of year.  Dress for the weather!We will follow Splitrock Side Trail east and south to second intersection with Ralph Tremills Side Trail. Then we follow Ralph Tremills east and return via Splitrock Side Trail west to 2ndLine. We’ll follow 2nd Line EHS Side Trail south to 25 Sideroad, cross the stile and continue south on Walter Tovell Side Trail to Clifftop Trail.  Keep right on Clifftop Trail to Bruce Main Trail, following the Main Trail west and north to Lookout Side Trail (km 4.0). Take Lookout Trail north and east to Walter Tovell and return north on Walter Tovell and 2nd Line EHS Side Trail to parking lot.

    Description

    From the Lavender cemetery we will shuttle to roadside parking on County Rd 9 at Km 6.1. We will then hike back through the scenic Noisy River Provincial Nature Reserve to the small, but historic, village of Lavender, where the Dufferin Hi-Land Section ends. The shorter hike will turn around and return to County Rd 9 parking after about 2 km. Bring water and snacks. Hiking poles are recommended. Icers may be required.

Take the left fork and follow Primrose Loop to intersection with Bruce Main Trail at km 16.7. We will take the Main Trail north, including a side trip up the Murphy’s Pinnacle Side Trail, then east to Boyne Valley Side Trail (km 18.8). Follow Boyne Valley east to 1st Line, south then west to Bruce Main Trail at km 15.2. Follow Main Trail north to km 16.7, then Primrose Loop, taking left fork where the loop begins, returning to parking via Prince of Wales Side Trail.

    Join us on high altitude adventure as we hike the three highest ridges in the Dundas Valley guided by “Sherpa” Phill Armstrong. We take in part of the Bruce Trail and several DVCA trails.  Lots of ups and downs.  Please bring icers just in case, a warm drink, water, a snack for “elevensies”, lunch, hiking boots, poles and lots of smiles.  Entrance fee to DVCA in effect at gate.  Please arrive at 9:00 to be ready to hike at 9:15.  Optional pub stop after.

    Description

    This is an end-to-end hiking series to complete the Dufferin Highlands section of the Bruce Trail in 4 hikes, join us for one, some or all.

    The hikes will be undertaken at a medium pace of approximately 4 km/hour for 13 – 15 kms each hike. Please consider your fitness level before registering, this is a group hike, and everyone is expected to keep pace with the person in front of them for the duration of the hike.

    The weather can be changeable at this time of year, so dress in layers for any possibility.  The terrain may be wet and slippery in sections, wear hiking boots and bring hiking poles.  Bring a snack, plenty of water and other hydration as needed.

    We will be travelling from south to north over the series.  The series will require car shuffles, and everyone will be expected to participate as drivers.

    Today’s hike, the first of four, will be 14.8 km in length.  Please plan to arrive at the meeting place by 8:15 am as we will start the car shuffle at 8:30 am sharp.

    Further details will be provided to registered hikers a few days prior to the hike.

    Join us in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Dufferin Hi-Land Bruce Trail Club. The Club plans to award a 60th Anniversary badge to any hiker who completes 60 km of Dufferin Hi-Land trails – Main or Side Trails. Our Tuesday Hike group is offering a series of 10 hikes, covering most of the highlights of our section that meet this requirement. If you can’t make all of the hikes, make ups are allowed. Just hike 60K in Dufferin during 2025 and you qualify for the badge

    Today’s hike will take the west arm of the Laidlaw Side Trail to the Main Trail. The short hike will return by way of the east arm of the Laidlaw Side Trail. The longer hike will continue on to the South Outlier Side Trail, returning by way of the Main Trail and the east arm of the Laidlaw Side Trail. Bring water, snacks and lots of enthusiasm!

Turn right on Oliver Creek and continue east to Bruce Main Trail at km 24.3. Follow Main Trail south to Mulmur Lookout Side Trail (km 20.7). Take side trips on the Boyne Creek and Mulmur Lookout Side Trails along the way. Return to parking by the same route or, for a shorter hike, stay on 2nd Line E when the Main Trail leaves the road just north of km 22.7.

    Description

    Join us to HELP REMOVE GARLIC MUSTARD!!

    We will hike in from 1st Line EHS picking invasive garlic mustard (reusable grocery bags or garbage bags work well). We will pick garlic mustard in that area for a while, dump it, then hike back out. Plenty of native spring plants to admire along the way – reducing invasive species will give these species a chance to thrive!

    • students wishing to receive community service hours (3Hours) MUST bring service forms from school

    Description

    Join us on the third of four hikes to cover the necessary 60 kms of the Dufferin Section in 2025 to earn the coveted Dufferin Hi-Land 60th Anniversary Badge.  This is a shuttle hike from 2nd Line E to 30 Sideroad.  Please be prepared to use your vehicle to transport hikers and please bring a garbage bag for your dirty boots and clean footwear to change into for the ride back to the start.  We will leave those things in the cars at the start so you don’t have to carry them on the hike.  Please make sure you are wearing comfortable boots and layers for the weather.  Please pack your icers just in case as well as bug spray and sunblock.  Please bring two litres of water, a snack, a lunch and a smile.  Please arrive at 9:30 to be ready to shuttle at 9:45 sharp.
