Description

Have you ever wondered what makes a species "invasive" ? And why this is a concern for the Bruce Trail ? Join Fran and Carol on this "Share and Learn" educational hike as
we learn to identify commonly found invasive species along the Sydenham Bruce Trail. This is a leisurely loop hike with lots of opportunity to discover, photograph and learn together.
We will concentrate on identifying common offenders such as : European buckthorn, Garlic mustard, Wild chervil and also "garden escapees"such as Periwinkle, English Ivy and Goutweed.
And we will discuss why it is important to prevent, control and remove these plants from our trail environment. Please bring water, poles if necessary, and proper footwear. There may be muddy sections.
