Description
September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, is a time for reflection, learning, and remembrance. It invites all Canadians to confront the legacy of residential schools and engage in meaningful conversations about reconciliation.
Let's join together for a hike as we share and learn from each other about reconciliation and discuss the book 'Braiding Sweatgrass' by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
Our hike will include the Carrying Place Trail where the Huron people had a village and include the Nenookaasi trail marker.
A park pass can be obtained on site or through https://kortright.org/plan-your-visit/
We will meet at 9:45 AM in the parking lot closest to the Visitor Centre building. Please be on time.
There are restrooms and a cafe/gift shop in the visitor building.
Wear your orange shirt if you have one, and if you don't and wish to get one: https://orangeshirtday.org/merchandise/
