We'll be reading “Braiding Sweetgrass” by Robin Wall Kimmerer and our hike will enhance the books teachings about the connection between plants, animals and humans as we stroll through The Dundas Valley Conservation Area's new Basadinaa Experience. The Indigenous heritage of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and Six Nations communities comes to life throughout the Basadinaa Experience throughout the main trail of the DVCA. The beautiful signage along the way provides opportunities for reflection, learning, and connection with the land through First Nations perspectives. Visitors are encouraged to take their time and approach the trail with openness and gratitude. We'll meet in the main parking lot off Governor's Road (Park fees apply - please register here for parking https://conservationhamilton.ca/admissions-fees/) and hike the main loop.
