    Junior Hiker Lady Bug Badge - Mothers Day Hike

    Please quickly cross over the stile for safety and wait there for departure. Bring snacks, drinks and a lunch.
    This hike is perfect for the whole family; children, parents and grandparents. We will make our way through woodlands, have a picnic by the Fisher Pond then return to our cars.
    Along the way we hope to see spring flowers and small wildlife. Starting point is km 83.5 km on Map 9. Children will be eligible for the Junior Hikers, spring hike badge, the Lady Bug.

    There are some dandy hills in Dundas Valley and this hike will include two of them.
    We’ll meet on Martin Rd. at the back of Ancaster Community and Recreation Centre which is on Jerseyville across from Ancaster High and Vocational School. Martin Rd. is the street that turns north from Jerseyville Rd. at the west side of the community centre.
    Drive north on Martin till you come to the last parking area on your right before a steep hill. Wear boots.
    An optional put stop follows the hike.

    Climb the steps and walk the streets and trails of West Hamilton. We will hike sections of the Bruce Trail as well as the trails of Iroquoia Heights. There will be weekly walks all summer. Now we are all getting older we are not hiking as fast as we used to. Hike is cancelled if there is heavy rain.

    Starting at Kilbride Public School we will complete an in/out hike thru the village of Kilbride to hook up with the BT and on to Crawford Lake CA. We will hike thru Yaremko-Ridley/Smith Nature Reserve to the calcium pits and on to the Crawford Lake CA for lunch. Bring water, snacks and lunch.

    The Bluebells in the Sixteen Mile Creek Valley in Oakville are always a treat for the eyes. Depending upon the season they could be at their best. Other wildflowers may be blooming as well. Some long, gentle hills, but mostly flat. Meet in the parking lot at the southeast corner of River Glen Blvd. and Neyagawa, next to the baseball fields. Bring a snack/lunch and water.

    Victoria Day Weekend in the Lower Bruce Peninsula

    Victoria Day Weekend in the Lower Bruce Peninsula, May 17-20.  The spring flowers will welcome us on three hiking days on the Bruce Trail and its side trails to form loops.   We stay and have our meals at a comfortable resort on Lake Huron.  Our daily hikes of approximately 15 km will be at a moderate pace to take pictures of the spring flowers and Georgian Bay. No dogs. Pre-register for the weekend with the hike leader. Outing restricted to those staying with us at Wildwood.
