    We will shuttle to km 30.1 on Map 22 and hike north through Nottawasaga Lookout Provincial Nature Preserve to our cars.

    We will depart from Roadside Parking at 38.9 km on Map 13 and head south to loop through Maureen Smith, Bennet Heritage and Roberts Side Trails to return to our cars. Bring lunch and lots of water.

    This is a mix of trails along Hamilton’s central mountain area.
    Meet in the parking lot of Hamilton’s Queensdale Avenue Public School on Queensdale Ave. one block east of James St.
    If you face the school from the front, the parking lot is off a small side street at the west end of the building. Wear boots. An optional pub stop will follow.

    This 8km loop hike will take us from Sanctuary Park along the Spring Creek Trail and return via a combination of rail trail and other trails.

    Directions: From Old Ancaster Road turn right onto Pleasant Ave and follow it along to Sanctuary Drive. Turn right on Sanctuary Drive. The parking lot is at the end of the street.

    Climb the steps and walk the streets and trails of West Hamilton. We will hike sections of the Bruce Trail as well as the trails of Iroquoia Heights. There will be weekly walks all summer. Now we are all getting older we are not hiking as fast as we used to. Hike is cancelled if there is heavy rain.

    Directions: From Hamilton toke 403 to West. Exit at Wilson St in Ancaster. Turn right on Wilson St. At the traffic take the exit right onto Meadowbrook St (3nd exit). Take Meadowbrook to Jerseyville Side Rd. and turn right. Just pass the high school the Little League Park is on the right at the bottom of the hill. There is no dropout point. No dogs please.

    Join me in looking for Spring Wildflowers in this lovely conservation area with it’s Meromictic lake and history going back to early Indigenous peoples. Bring water, a snack, sunscreen and insect repellent. Some rocky sections. Parking fee or conservation area pass. Limit of 20 people. Register with leader.
