    Easy/ moderate hike along Coveney’s Side Trail, main Bruce Trail and McIver Side Trail with a chance to view McIver Pond and Knapp Lookout. Bring your own water, snacks and lunch.

    Pace: Brisk – 4 to 5 km/hr
    Terrain: Easy – Mostly flat and usually good footing
    Distance: 14-16 km

    Description

    We will hike on the Lynn Valley Trail to Port Dover for lunch (fish and chips anyone?), then hike back to our cars. In memory of Mickey Macdonald, who lead this enjoyable hike the first time I did it.

    Description

    Hike the entire Niagara Section over 10 weeks.  Due to Covid19, we will be completing this as a series of in and out hikes.  This series will start in Grimsby and end in Queenston (83km).  Upon successfully completing the entire Niagara section you can purchase a Niagara e2e badge.

    Meet at Quarry Rd, Beamsville and hike to Sixth Ave, Ball’s Falls and back.

    We recommend that you bring extra water, snacks and poles.

    Location (Google Maps): Map 20. Meet at roadside parking on Centre Rd (km 34.9), just north of River Rd in Kilgorie. From Hwy 10 and 89, continue north on Dufferin Rd 19 (Prince of Wales Rd) to junction with River Rd. Turn right/east and drive to Centre Rd. Turn right and park on the west shoulder just past the community mail box.

    This series of loop or in-and-back hikes will explore all of the side trails in the section. Hikers completing all 7 hikes will be eligible for the Dufferin Hi-Land Side Trails Badge.

    Today we will hike a loop consisting of the Main Trail and Bell Lookout, Meladonna and Kilgorie Side Trails. Bring water and snacks.

    Description

    Silent Valley Nature Reserve is the sheltered site that includes the remains of an old barn, stone fences and dug well from original Wilson Homestead, signs of glacer meltwater erosion and a variety of fossils 430 M yrs old. The side trail loops into the main trail which climbs and traverses a section of the escarpment. Map 30.
