    Description

    Hiking the Dundas Valley Conservation Area is always pleasant and provides a good workout with its many hills, short or long. We will hike the Sawmill Trail, onto the Spring Creek Trail and return via the rail trail. Meet in the last parking lot before the Trail Centre at 9:45 am. for a 10:00 am. start. Bring water, a snack and icers. Br prepared for icy and/or muddy conditions. Parking fee in effect or Conservation Area pass. BTC Map 8.

    Explore downtown Toronto’s PATH Network, the world’s largest underground shopping complex according to the Guiness Book Of World Records. Protected from the elements we walk for about 2 hours and visit points of interest such as the Design Exchange and Inuit Art museums. Optional refreshment stop after the walk. Dropout anywhere along the way.

    The Black Walnut Side Trail combined with the Rim of Africa Friendship Trail is 5.3km. The loop trail will be hiked twice and you may choose to hike it twice or just once.     Description

    Eleven members of the Peninsula Club and Sydenham Club will be camping at MacGregor Provincial Park, just South West of Port Elgin, from January 28 till January 30 and they are inviting people to join them for a snowshoe hike on Wednesday, January 29 at 10:00 am. Meet at the Visitor Centre parking lot. A daily parking fee is in effect. Those wishing to stay for lunch after the hike are invited to Yurts #46 and #48. Bring your own lunch.     3. Participants are expected to wear appropriate attire for the weather and the terrain. In summer, sturdy footwear is necessary. In winter, snowshoes or icers/crampons are needed when conditions dictate. It is a good idea to bring these items if there is snow on the ground and the hike leader will advise you as to the best footwear for the day. Hiking poles are a good idea in any season, especially if the terrain is rocky or slippery. Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear prevents injuries and shows consideration for a safe and positive group hiking experience.
    4. Always carry I.D. and your health card.
    5. Bring sufficient water and snacks (or lunch if indicated).
    6. For spring and summer hikes bring sunscreen and insect repellent.
    7. Please leave dogs at home.
    8. Pace: Leisurely = 3km/hr or less, Medium = 3-4 km/hr, Brisk = 4-5 km/hr, Fast = 5+km/hr

    Join us for an awesome day of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Kawartha Nordic. Snowshoers: Experienced snowshoers join Wayne for a guided level II snowshoe hike. Alternatively, explore the resort’s trails on your own. Skiers: Glide through a beautiful mixed-wood forest on the Canadian Shield on trails groomed for classic and skate skiing. Warm-up in trail-side cabins. Ski and showshoe rentals available. No food services. Please pack lunch and enough water for the day.

    Meet km. 13.3 Map 20 Ed. 29 Directions; From Orangeville, go north on Hwy. 10 to the 30th Sideroad, ( approx. 15 km ) turn right on 30th, follow for approx. 3 km to start point. Park on the south side of 30th Sideroad, careful of the ditch. Meet at 6:15 for a prompt 6:30 start, WE WILL NOT WAIT FOR LATE ARRIVALS !
