Location (Google Maps): Meet at the bus loop at Unionville GO Station 155 YMCA Blvd. Markham Road (west of Kennedy Rd, north of Highway 407). GO Transit riders meet in Great Hall of Union Station at 8:55 AM to take the 9:15 AM train toward Mount Joy (Adult Return Fare $15.56, or $10.00 Weekend Pass (only available on smartphones or may be purchased from the Hike Leader), Seniors 1/2 Regular Adult Fare. The train also passes Kennedy GO next to Kennedy Subway one Line 2. GO Schedules to be confirmed during the week prior to the hike. Note the station building will be closed, no washrooms.

Description

We will hike into the village of Unionville via the Rouge River Trail and Bruce's Creek. After a brief stop we will hike around Toogood Pond and the trail network north of the pond toward 16th Avenue. We return to historic Main Street Unionville where we can watch and listen for the Candy Cane Carolers performing between 1:00 and 3:00. Terrain is mostly flat on easy trails. If there is snow on the ground icers may be required. Return to the start of the hike by following Main Street south to Enterprise Blvd. Trains to Union depart hourly at 48 minutes past the hour.
