Description
The Glen Cross/Cam Snell side trails are easy to moderate loop trails. There are some short, steep climbs, but the trail footing is good. The trails are dry unless there has been a recent downpour. There are opportunities for great views of the Hockley Valley, some glades and wetlands, and some river views of the north and south branches of the Nottawasaga River. This will be a moderately paced hike so that the views can be enjoyed and photographed, and there’ll be a stop with enough time for a snack.
There is an option to stop at the Mono Centre Brewery on the way home to relax and slake your thirst. The brewery is located just under 2 km’s west of Airport Rd, on Dufferin Rd 8 (Mono Centre Rd).
The trailhead for the Glen Cross side trail, which is the starting point, is on 3rd Line EHS, 1 km north of Hockley Rd. GPS coordinates are 43.9229 -80.04809 Car pooling is advised as parking at the trailhead is limited.
