Description
This is the rescheduled hike from April 25 which was cancelled due to forecasted rain and thunderstorms in the area -
This is the Part 2 of our early wildflower hikes at Scottsdale Farm following the Bennett Heritage Trail and the Bruce Trail Main Trail and the Great Esker Side Trail to form a loop hike. Some rocky and steep areas. We will hike the same trail as Part 1 but in reverse which I guarantee will feel like a different hike!
We will maintain a hike at a moderate pace, and stop intermittently to look for early spring ephemerals budding such has Bloodroot, Trout Lily, Spring Beauty, Wood Anemone etc. This is a beautiful area to see both white and red Trilliums late April and early May
My co-leader Grace and I have been hiking in this area for over 20 years each spring in search of budding spring flowers. Please join us and wear hiking boots, weather appropriate clothing, hiking pole, water, snack-could be wet as it is spring, but generally the trails are good terrain. We will stop a lunch/ snack break midway. Please text/contact me Cathie Green at 416-931-2095 if you have any questions or concerns or need to cancel last minute
