Description

This is a 9 day hike of the entire Peninsula section. Completion of all 9 days will represent an end to end (ETE) of this beautiful section. Badges (optional) will likely be available on the last day. Please be prepared for a strenuous section of trail hiked at a brisk pace. This hike is intended for those who wish to complete the entire section - people who have never hiked this section are very welcome.

Please bring the following: two litres of water, enough food and snacks for energy including your lunch, sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen), your first aid kit, extra clothing, rain protection if forecast, poles if you use them and of course worn-in hiking boots and your cameras! Bruce Trail maps or the Bruce Trail app are also required. Everyone will be expected to be in great physical condition as this section is challenging but rewarding. The bottom half  is not too bad but the top half is considered quite strenuous.

A suggestion for accommodation would be to book something in Lion's Head for the duration of the ETE but it is entirely up to you. Do not delay in booking something though as accommodations in the Peninsula tend to fill fast.

On the first day we will meet in the parking area for Blue Water Park, in Wiarton. Meet time is 7:45am. We will car shuttle to our starting point on Crooked Toe Rd and hike back to our vehicles.  Everyone will be asked to participate in the car shuttles. The schedule for our hikes will be provided to you on the first day - distances will range from 20 - 25km per day. The final day will be a short day and a time to celebrate. Many of the parking areas have paid parking - please share these costs with the others in the vehicle.

Please, no dogs.
