Description

Please note that this a special series of 10 hikes to complete the Peninsula section of the Bruce Trail and the event is a fund raiser to support the Peninsula Club which in turn supports the mission of the Bruce Trail Conservancy which is "preserving a ribbon of wilderness for everyone, forever, forever". The cost is $30 per hiker. The funds will be collected by the Toronto Club and will be transferred to the Peninsula Club

Please note that you are signing up for the entire series of 10 hikes as a group hike.

Please note that there are no refunds or transfers for the registration fee. If you register for this hike and change your mind, please cancel your name from the registered list as there will be others on the waitlist.

This hike series will reward you with a special fundraising badge featuring the Turkey Vulture.
This 10 hike series is for experienced hikers and the average moving pace is expected to be 4-4.5 k an hour. Please be honest about your degree of physical fitness prior to registration. This is a group hike so it is important that you are able to keep pace with the person in front of you. The section is approximately 165 km so daily distances will be based on available parking. No dropout points have been established and therefore if hikers must drop out they will be responsible for transportation back to their vehicle. Transportation options back to your vehicle are very limited in this section. Hikers will be expected to be wearing proper hiking boots and layered clothing with the expectation of cool and possible wet weather.  Sufficient food and water for a full day of hiking is required as well as hiking poles (if you use them), and wet weather gear is strongly recommended.

Hikers will be allowed to miss up to three group hikes, and they are expected to finish those on their own within the time frame of this series.

The registration fee does not include parking. We may need to pay a small amount of money collectively, if any considering that these hikes are after the summer season.
