Description

Join a Bruce Trail Conservancy Trail Ambassador for an introductory hike on Burnt Point Loop Side Trail at Bruce Peninsula National Park. Learn about the Bruce Trail, Canada’s longest and oldest marked footpath, key tips about how to find your way on the trail,  how to prepare for a day hike and important hiking safety tips to keep in mind.  Enjoy three pretty water-view lookouts as we hike through a lovely cedar forest. There will be time for conversation and a rest stop at the water. Bring your camera. There will be some wonderful photo opportunities. Be prepared for about a 2 1/2 hr leisurely paced hike. Appropriate for beginners and families.

Wear sturdy footwear, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent. Bring small day pack, water and a snack. Hiking poles are optional.

The terrain is uneven. Tree roots and rocks can be slippery when wet.

Park Admission Fee: We will be hiking on a section of the  Bruce Trail which is located within the National Park Boundary. The Guided Hike is free. However,  Park admission fees apply and can be purchased at the Visitors Centre. If you have a National Park Pass, your admission is already covered.
