Description

The PBTC is excited to pilot two trail runs as part of their hiking series. These fall 2024 pilot trail runs will help with preliminary plans for a Peninsula E2E trail running series in 2025. The first trail run on Saturday, Sept.21, 2024, will be a 10k loop of Hope Bay Forest Provincial Nature Reserve starting in the Hope Bay public parking lot. The loop will include 2.7k from the parking lot, north on Water Street into the trail to the Jack Poste Side Trail. We will turn clockwise (north) on the Jack Poste Side Trail to the Don Irish Side Trail and back along the main trail for about a 4k loop; then back on the main trail to the parking lot for a total of about 10k. This is not a race. Trail runners will be expected to stay together – plan for approximately 2 hours. This is technical terrain for running. You should have some experience running trails, proper footwear, carry your own water/fuel, and fitness to maintain a jogging pace. Car pool if possible. Please join this run and share your feedback for future PBTC trail running events!
