Description

An urban historical walk of downtown Hamilton while we wait for the mud to dry up on the trails.  Beginning at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club (meet at 9:45 for a 10:00am start) we will walk into downtown Hamilton  and return.  Along the way you will see historical landmarks and points of interest, such as Liuna Station; The Armories (home of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry); Lister Block; Hamilton Farmers' Market; Gore Park and the fountain; Pigott building; Whitehearn Museum; Central Public School (the first public school in Hamilton built in 1853, before Confederation, and still a public school; the Scottish Rite; Hess Village; and several other sites including a visit inside Christ's Church Cathedral (parish established in 1835).  Optional lunch after the walk at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club.
