Description

Hi everyone! Come hike with Felix and me in the Guelph area!

We’ll start along the Eramosa River Trail, following the river toward the Arboretum Side Trail. From there, we’ll enter the University of Guelph Arboretum and spend some time exploring the beautiful grounds. At approximately the 8 km mark, there will be a porta-potty available for use. After exploring the Arboretum, we’ll retrace the side trail and continue along the Guelph Radial Trail, following the Eramosa River toward Gordon Street and Royal City Park, where we’ll finish our hike. Once the hike is finished, there will be some extra time to explore downtown Guelph or grab a bite to eat! The train back to Union Station departs at 4:08 p.m. and is scheduled to arrive at 5:35 p.m.

You should bring enough water and food (including lunch) for a 4-hour hike that is hiked at a moderate pace of about 3.5-4 km/h, comfortable walking/hiking shoes, sun and bug protection, and appropriate clothing for the weather. The terrain will be a mix of gravel, dirt, rocks, roots, and some hills!

By TTC/GO: Meet Felix at Union station by 8:35 a.m. We will make the short walk to the GO station platform to take the Kitchener GO train departing at 8:49 a.m., and arriving at Guelph Central GO station at 10:05 a.m., where we will meet up with Talise and start the hike. Hikers can alternatively board the train at Bloor GO station at 8:59 a.m.

Notes: this hike will run conditional upon Kitchener GO Line service operating as normal. Registration is limited to 20 spots.
