Description

Difficulty: Easy

Our one way urban hike, will follow a string of lovely parks that line the shoreline of Lake Ontario with beautiful views of the lake. Commencing at Col Sam Smith Park, formerly a weekend get-away destination for Victorian Torontonians, and now a bird watcher's paradise, we will follow a network of paths before working our way west along Lake Promenade by way of attractive Long Branch Park to Marie Curtis Park. There we will explore some of the natural beauty of this park before heading north along Etobicoke Creek and finishing our hike at the Long Branch Go Station and 501 Streetcar Loop. Hiking shoes are recommended as we will be on dirt trails part of the time some of which can be a little muddy. Dropouts at any time. You only have to walk half a kilometre to Lake Shore Blvd where you can catch the 501 Streetcar. An optional refreshment stop after the hike will be at the Long Branch Legion. Pre-registration will speed-up filling out the waiver form but is not mandatory.
