Description
Join us for the second hike in our four-part Dufferin Hi-Land End-to-End.
Today we continue north from Hurontario Street through the Boyne Valley area, finishing at the Bruce Trail parking lot on 1st Line East.
This is one of the more varied and challenging portions of the Dufferin Hi-Land section. Expect forest and valley terrain, significant elevation changes, roots, rocks, wet areas and several steep climbs and descents.
The Boyne Valley has experienced recent trail changes. We will follow the current, officially blazed Bruce Trail route in effect on the day of the hike. For this reason, the final distance may vary slightly from the traditional 14.2 km distance for this section.
This is a point-to-point hike requiring a car shuttle. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. with your vehicle passenger-ready. We plan to leave the parking area at approximately 8:45 and begin hiking at approximately 9:00. Everyone is expected to participate in the car shuttle once or twice during the 4 days hike.
Hiking boots or sturdy hiking shoes are required and hiking poles are strongly recommended.
Bring approximately 2 litres of water, lunch and snacks. Late October weather can change quickly, so dress in layers and be prepared for cool, wet or windy conditions.
