Description

Join us for Part IV of the Beaver Valley End to End. Today we'll be doing a combination of woods, meadows and hills, with some road walking. Please note that we are about 6 km short of  where we planned to be by this point so we will not reach Old Baldy on the 11th. We will do that part of the trail, ending at Eugenia on September 17. This is one of eight hikes that will take in the whole of the Beaver Valley Section of the Bruce Trail. Each will be of 15-16 km in length. They are designed so that anyone of reasonable fitness can complete the End to End and obtain a badge. These will not be fast hikes.

Bring at least two litres of water and your lunch. We'll be meeting  the bus something after the halfway point so you can leave some or your water on the bus for later pickup. Do not leave your lunch as we'll be stopping to eat before we see the bus again. Sun protection and insect repellent are recommended at this time of year.

Following the hike we'll make a roughly forty minute refreshment/washroom stop in Primrose. There are several places to eat at the crossroads.

If you are planning to order an end to end badge for the Beaver Valley Section please type 'Yes' in the Additional information Field when you register. I will collect the $5 on the first hike when we resume the series in September.

You can use the hikes in this series to complete the Beaver Valley end to end if you are doing other parts of it by car or with other hike leaders if my dates don't all work for you. Just make a note of the dates and the km covered for your hiking log to be submitted directly to the Beaver Valley Club.

The remaining four hikes in this series have been scheduled for:

October 1, 2022

October 15, 2022

October 29, 2022

November 12, 2022 (7:30 am departure as the days are getting shorter)
