*** HIKE CANCELLED DUE TO LOW REGISTRATION **Join us for a pleasant stroll through the Island Lake Conservation Authority in Orangeville Ontario. We will do a full circuit of the trails, many of which run on boardwalks over the water and through marshy areas. A very scenic and relaxed walk for an August day.
We’ll eat our lunch near the rental area for canoes and kayaks. It will be a leisurely lunch break (at least an hour) and you can take a paddle or swim before we resume the walk.
For information on the Conservation Authority see: https://cvc.ca/discover-our-parks/island-lake/
Approximate Route: https://onthegomap.com/s/pbhu04ip
After the walk we will head to Orangeville for refreshments. Please indicate in the Additional Information Field when registering if you would like to visit the Mill Creek Pub so I can give them numbers to reserve a table. There is a very fine ice cream shop near the pub and there are a number of places to get good coffee on Broadway Avenue, about a block north of where we will park. I expect to spend about an hour in town before we head back to Toronto.
