    Description

Join Martina Furrer, Wayne Crockett, and David Royle for an unforgettable weekend of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in Val-David, Quebec. Explore the Parc Régional Val-David Val-Morin and the P’tit Train du Nord in the beautiful Laurentian mountains. Possible day trip to Sainte-Lucie-des-Laurentides where we’ll climb Mont Kaaikop (elevation gain 340 m) and enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the Laurentians; for the less ambitious there are also easier scenic routes like the Tour du Lac Legault.

We will stay at the Auberge du Vieux Foyer, walking distance to the trails, shops, and galleries in Val-David.

Travel direct from Toronto in a luxury highway coach. Our bus will depart at 7:00 am on Friday March 4 and be back in Toronto around 8 pm on Monday March 7. Departure and drop-off location is 16 York Mills Rd.

Enjoy two full days and two half days of skiing or snowshoeing. All fit, experienced skiers and snowshoers are welcome. The trails are hilly. On our full day guided hikes you should expect to climb the equivalent of 70 to 90 floors, while walking 10 to 12 kilometres. The ski trails in the parks are suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers.

COVID-19 safety protocols: You must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and agree to wear a mask at all times while on the bus. You must also agree to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols that the hotel and the ski resorts have in place.

Accommodation is $370 plus tax per person based on double occupancy in hotel rooms or triple/quad occupancy in chalets. This price includes: three nights’ accommodation, three breakfasts, three four-course dinners, ski and snowshoe trail passes for the Parc Régional Val-David Val-Morin, and use of the hotel’s pool, sauna, and spa.

Coach fare is $125 for Toronto Bruce Trail Club members and $145 for non-members. Registration deadline is December 10, 2021.

Instructions: Book your room and your seat on the bus at the same time.

    1. Book your hotel room. Call the Auberge du Vieux Foyer at 1-800-567-8327. Remember the rate is based on double occupancy (hotel rooms) or triple/quad occupancy (chalets). Pick your roommate(s) before you book. Rooms have different configurations so check with the hotel to make sure you get a room that meets your needs. The Auberge de Vieux Foyer requires a $175 deposit at the time of booking.

    2. Click on the registration link to pay your coach fare and reserve your seat.

    3. Show your proof of vaccination to Martina. Send it by email (Martina will review it and then destroy it), or contact Martina to set up a Zoom or Facetime chat to show it.

Coach fare is non-refundable after December 10, 2021. If you have to cancel before this date your money will be refunded less a $20 service fee.

Special note: The trip will not be cancelled due to weather. If there is not enough snow to ski and snowshoe we will hike. You are responsible for you own travel and health insurance.
