Terrain: Moderate: some hills and some poor footing
    Distance: 3-4 km

    Description

Join us for a leisurely, family-friendly Trillium Hunt hike along the Niagara Bruce Trail!

We will meet at the main parking lot inside Kinsmen Park in Beamsville and head towards Quarry Rd along the Bruce Trail to search for trillium and other short-lived spring ephemeral woodland flowers blooming right now such as trout lilies, bloodroot, jack-in-the-pulpit, dutchman’s breeches and more.

This is a leisurely-paced hike that is family-friendly.  We will take our time looking for and at flowers.  The trail is rocky and has some ups and downs along the escarpment that may pose challenges for anyone with mobility limitations.  Good hiking shoes are a must and hiking poles help navigate the ups and downs.

Children are welcome accompanied by a responsible adult.  Please arrive at 12:50 to check in with the hike leader so we can set out at 1 sharp. There is a parking lot inside Kinsmen Park with free parking but please note there are no bathrooms along this trail.
