    Description

    Join in this hike which will have us hiking along the escarpment and down into Nassagaweya Canyon. We will get great views across the canyon to Crawford Lake CA and from in the canyon we will see the escarpment above us. Expect some poor footing with the possibility of snow and ice. Bring water, a snack, icers and poles if using. If you cancel the morning of the hike please text me at 905 617 3937. You will need to make a reservation with Rattlesnake Point CA.

Macklin Street North is accessed either from Main Street West or King Street West, depending on which way you enter Hamilton. Please note that this is Royal Botanical Gardens property so you must use either an RBG parking pass or pay at the parking machines. Parking can be paid for by the hour.

    Description

    This is an out and back hike.  Parking fee applies (unless you have a Halton Parks pass, a great value) and you must reserve from 9:15 am to 1:30 pm.

    Wear appropriate quick-dry clothing and hiking boots.  Bring sunscreen, insect repellant (summer), icers (winter), snacks, hiking poles, a personal first aid kit and 1 – 2 litres of water.  For personalized driving directions, click on the hike in the BTC hike calendar, then on (Google Maps) to the right of the word Location, and your smartphone should navigate you to the correct location.  Please arrive by 9:15, as we will be leaving promptly at 9:30.  If you are unable to attend, please email me as soon as possible in advance of the hike, or text me if it is < 2 hours before the hike.

    Description

    What better way to celebrate a significant birthday than by going on a hike. Join Anne and I as we celebrate her birthday with a hike in the Halton Agreement Forest. Meet in the northeast corner of the Woodbine/Mohawk Casino/Raceway at 9:45 am. for a 10:00am. start. Bring water, a snack, icers and poles if using. We will do a circular hike to Hilton Falls and back. With snow covered (?) trails the walking should not be too difficult. We will have our snack at the falls: hopefully there will be a fire already started. Optional refreshment stop at the Black Swan Pub on Walkers’s Line.

    Description

    Come enjoy the beauty of Dundas Valley CA with its lovely trails and many hills and valleys. We will complete one or two loops, your choice to do one or both. The terrain is easy but we will encounter some hills. Expect snow and ice, depending on what Mother Nature decides to give us. Bring water, a snack, icers and poles if using. We will stop at the centre between loops for our snack and a bathroom break. If you cannot make the hike the morning of, please text me at 905 617 3937.     Description

    We will hike through Shell Park and trails in Bronte to Bronte Creek and Bronte Harbour, returning via the lake and pioneer cemetery. Bring icers, water and a snack.   Please arrive a few minutes before the start time,  I will be leaving on time.  If you are unable to come and cancel after 4:00 pm on the day before the hike, please let me know by email that evening (tedbossence@sympatico.ca) or by text the next morning (905 334-8752).

    Description

    Please join me for a Family Day group hike. All ages and abilities are welcome but the climb up the mountain is a tough climb. If you would like to meet us at the top, we can meet you up top likely around 10:30 -10:45am. Please park in the designated space for Beamer Memorial Conservation Area

    But for everyone else, we will assemble in the Lions Club Pool parking lot and then make our way up the mountain. If there are icy conditions, please bring your icers just in case.  Please bring enough water and snacks for the hike which will be about 5km – 6km depending on where you join the hike.

    We will hike at a pace that is suitable for all. What better way to celebrate Family Day?!

    Description

    We will be on both blue side trails and the main trail. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy nature in this urban setting.  The start is hilly and then we’ll enjoy mostly flat on our way west to King Road. There are some great lookouts to see Burlington and the lake.   We’ll loop back and have a hilly finish.  Poles and hiking shoes/boots are recommended.   Please bring water and a snack.

    Description

    Drive straight in from entrance, main parking lot to your right turn from stop sign at T junction. Either Hamilton Conservation Area membership or parking fees apply. Loop of lake, exact route may vary. Wear boots and bring icers. One side of loop flat, other has some moderate hills. Prepare for variable conditions and footing in winter conditions, easy in ideal conditions. Dress in layers appropriate to weather. Bring water and snack. Hike leaves at 10am.

    Description

    Hike the Great Esker and Duff Pit Side Trails.
    The hike distance will be reduced if hiking conditions are poor. Dress appropriately for the weather and for slippery trail conditions and rocks. Bring food and water, hiking boots, icers, and no dogs please.
    Directions to Meeting Place: From where Trafalgar Road merges with Hwy 7 in Georgetown, drive north 3.4 km and then turn right onto 22 Side Rd and then left on Eighth Line. Continue along Eighth Line until you see the blue blazes for the Eighth Line Side Trail. Note: you can not access the meeting place driving south on Eighth Line from the 27 Side Rd because it is closed in the winter.
    Please arrive at 9:45 for hike start time of 10:00 AM. Register using the hiking schedule. Cancellations the morning of the hike please call 905-257-6815.

    We will walk along side Bay St N to the Hamilton Convention Centre.

    The Hamilton Soupfest supports Living Rock Youth Centre. It starts at 11:30. $20 for 4 soup samples. Tickets can be bought in advance online or at the Centre.

    After soup, voting and fun we will walkback to Bayfront Park.

    Meeting at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am start, in the parking lot directly behind the Central Branch, Burlington Public Library.  An urban  hike.  We will take the footpath towards the lake front, through Spencer Park and along the lake towards the canal lift bridge.  The temperature and weather will determine how far we will go as winds from the lake can be cold and strong.  Dress in layers.  Bring fluids and a snack.
