We will hike the trails in this lovely Conservation Area. Parking fee applies (unless you have a Halton Parks Pass, a great value) and you must reserve two time slots (9-11 and 11-1) in advance.

Description
The hike will be approximately 14K and will start at the end of Patterson Rd. This parking lot is adjacent to the Clappison Cut so be careful using GPS co-ordinates. We will head east along the main trail to Smokey Hollow in Waterdown the back to the parking lot. This is a strenuous hike along leaf covered rocks so hiking boots are mandatory.
Bring lunch, water and HIKING BOOTS. No dogs please.
The pace will be a mix of medium and brisk depending on the terrain.

Description
Join me at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area to search for the elusive rattlesnake after which this area was named. I have never seen one yet but "hope springs eternal". Maybe this will be the time, unless it has already joined it friends in their winter hiberculum. Meet in the LOWER parking lot at 9:45 am. for a 10:00 am. (If the lower lot is closed already, park in the upper lot. Bring water, a snack/lunch and hiking poles if using. Expect one long, steep hill down and another more gentle hill going up. We will hike north and then take the Leech Porter side trail down to rejoin the main trail heading south and then up and returning via a side trail to the parking lot. Great views over the escarpment towards Crawford Lake. Two back to back reservations required to complete this hike. I suggest the first at 9:40 am.

Description
This is an approx. 9km intermediate nature hike along the Bruce Trail through forest and meadows, with a couple of nice vista look outs along the way.
We will take a 5-10 minute break at Smokey Hollow (which is the halfway point).
Some rugged/rocky areas. One incline at the halfway point upon our return.
We will encounter 2 stiles (ladders), each way, which we will be required to climb over.
Wear appropriate, layered clothing and hiking shoes/boots and poles if you require.
Bring sunscreen, a sun hat, insect repellent, snacks, 1-2 litres of water, a personal first aid kit, hand sanitizer and a face mask.
Please register at least 12 hours prior to hike start time. Sometimes last minute changes are made to hikes; registering means we will be able to contact you to communicate any changes to the schedule. For driving directions, copy and paste the GPS coordinates into a Google search window.
Please arrive 15 minutes early. If you are unable to attend, please email me at least 2 hours before the start of the hike, or text me if it is less than 2 hours before the hike.
We will depart promptly at 9:30AM.

Description
Predominantly a Side Trail Hike with some Main Trail and sections of road. We'll be doing the Vanderleck, Al Shaw, Canada Goose, Cliff Hatch and Speyside South Side Trails. Along with a few KMs of main Trail.
Loop hike, starting and ending at the Parking Lot. Lot has 15 spots and is Free. Entrance on 15 Sideroad just west of HWY 25.
Terrain on this Hike is Moderate. Not too much elevation change, but may be slippery and rocky in sections. And depending on conditions could be wet in parts.
Speed of Hike is Moderate at 3-3.5 KM / per hour. (Although stopping for photos is allowed:)
Please ensure you check the weather are dressed appropriately with layers. Boots are required. Poles are recommended. If weather gets cold and icy, please have crampons (ice cleats) with you. And please bring at least 2L of water, snacks, and lunch.

We will follow the Main trail to the River & Ruin side trail and turn off to Lowville Park for a lunch/snack break

Description
Meet at the Calcium Pits roadside parking on Twiss Rd north of Derry Rd. Map 11, km 102.6; GPS: Latitude 43.447743 Longitude -79.953436.
We will follow the Main Trial into Crawford Lake Conservation Area and then follow various trails including the trail around Crawford Lake. We will descend into the Nassagaweya Canyon and then return up the steep incline to the top of the Escarpment via the Crawford Lake Side Trail. We will hike various trails to return to the Main Trail and onto Twiss Road.
Dress appropriately for the weather and for slick boardwalks and rocks as well as muddy conditions. Bring food and water, hiking boots, rain gear, no dogs please.

Please join us at 9:45 am. for a 10:00 am. start in the parking lot of Valleyridge Park on Valleyridge Dr. in Oakville. We will make our way to the eastern banks of Bronte Creek using urban trails, field trails and Bronte Creek Park trails to do a loop and return to our starting point. The trails are easy with some slippery sections. Bring water, a snack and hiking poles if using. We should get great views of the western side of the creek. Please dress according to the weather of the day. Covid protocols in place.

Join us for an ascent of one of the Bruce Trail's most famous hills - Kilgorie. A precious few hikers are able to claim they made it to the top. No badge, but lifetime bragging rights await. We will take in power house ruins on the Pine River, a murder story, an old forgotten concert venue, spectacular crevices and a real Enchanted Forest. This is a shuttle hike so bring a mask, a garbage bag for your dirty boots and a change of footwear. Please also bring layered warm clothing including a woolly hat and mitts. Pack icers just in case as well as a warm drink, a lunch and a snack. Please arrive 15 minutes early and be ready to shuttle at 9. Hiking boots mandatory. Poles highly recommended. Gonna be fun. Some windy road walking.
