We will start the hike near the Whirlpool Golf Course ( free parking across from the WGC parking lot ) and hike along the top of the gorge to the stairs that lead down to the river. We will then hike along the river bank to the Whirlpool rapids and then climb back to the top of the gorge and back to the parking lot. This is a short hike but difficult terrain.We will meet at the parking lot east of Hutches on Van Wagners Road at 9:00 AM and we will carpool to Niagara Falls

Tuesday Evening Not-the-Bruce Trail Hike

This loop hike takes in the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, some bird breeding ponds, and Confederation Park. Park in the lot just to the right of Hutchie’s on Van Wagner’s Rd. Running shoes or boots would be suitable for this one. Bring water. An optional pub stop will follow.

Good Companions - Waterfalls to Dundas Valley CA

Meet for 9:30 am start at the Dundas Valley CA Trail Centre parking lot off Governor Road. From the parking lot closest to the Trail Centre, we will carpool to the Tews Falls parking lot on Harvest Road. If travelling on Hwy 8/King Street through Dundas, turn right onto Harvest Road. If coming from Hwy 5, turn left onto Hwy 8/Brock Road, then left again at Harvest Road. Hike will commence at Tews Falls and include Dundas Peak, Old Dundas Station Side Trail, and continue on Bruce Trail past the Dundas Valley Golf and Country Club back to the Dundas Valley CA Trail Centre. Cars remaining at the Trail Centre, or parking at Tews Falls, must pay a parking fee or have a Hamilton Conservation Authority pass. Bring lunch, water, bug spray, sunscreen.

Climb the steps and walk the streets and trails of West Hamilton. We will hike sections of the Bruce Trail as well as the trails of Iroquoia Heights. There will be weekly walks all summer. Now we are all getting older we are not hiking as fast as we used to. Hike is cancelled if there is heavy rain.

Join local author of popular Loops & Lattes series Nicola Ross as she leads us on a gentle hike around Crooks Hollow. Postponed from Easter Weekend which was rained out. Free! All welcome!. Nicola is going to talk a bit about the rich history of this area which was very active in the last 2 centuries. The trail follows parts of beautiful Spencer Creek. Please note that this will be a bit longer than most HNC walks at about 5 km. Wear sturdy boots and be prepared for mud if it has just rained.Nicola’s books will be available for $25 including tax and she will sign them for you! Meet at the Crooks Hollow parking lot at 9:50 am so we can gather before the walk. Cancelled in inclement weather.
