Description

Meet at the cairn in Queenston at 7:45am. Carpool to Artpark State Park in Lewiston, NY. Bring water, lunch & valid ID (current passport or upgraded DL) to enter the US.
Hike will be led by a state park naturalist and will include historical information. Badges available. Health insurance is the responsibility of the participant.

Description

Iroquoia End-to-End in 11 parts will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays over the summer and fall. Hikes are not in sequence.
For this section, we will meet at Glover Mountain ST (21.8 KM in Bruce TrailReference Guide) then shuttle to Wentworth steps 33.4. We will walk “down” the steps and return to our cars stopping for lunch at Felkers Falls along the way. Please pre-register with me to receive news of any changes to our plans.

We can park in the lot at Walker’s Line and No2 Side Road. Parking pass required. Hike up the Main Bruce Trail into the conservation area. Escarpment Edge Trail, South Loop/Bruce Trail and North Loop.
No dogs. Bring water, hat, snack/lunch at Brock Harris Lookout. There is a short ladder as we ascend the escarpment. Pub/refreshment stop afterwards.

Description

We will be hiking the Mountain Brow Side Trail to where it meets the main Bruce Trail.  Then we will be returning on the main Bruce Trail, and then the fun part!  We get to climb up the Wentworth Stairs (all 500 of them!)   After the hike, there will be an optional ice cream stop.  This is the only time of the year that we have enough daylight to do a 10-11km hike as an evening walk, so come on out and enjoy the long evening daylight!  Hike Cancelled, if there is heavy rain.

Directions: Take Concession Street to Upper Wentworth and turn north toward the escarpment.  Keep right and the road becomes Mountain Park Ave. Park in the first parking lot on the left or on the street and we will meet at the top of the Wentworth Stairs.

This is a loop hike on valley trails to the Dundas Valley Trail Centre starting at the parking lot of the grocery store at the corner of Ogilvie and Governor’s Rd. in Dundas.
Park next to the creek to avoid store customers. Wear boots and bring water. Afterwards we’ll do an optional pub stop.

Hidden Gems in Aldershot and the RBG trail

Description

We will follow Grindstone Creek through the park and then onto the RBG property up and down the trails of Hendrie Valley to the toll ponds and back. Bring lots of water, snack, lunch for possible picnicking in the park afterwards, bug spray and sunscreen. Trail is often muddy. Hopefully we’ll see lots of beautiful warblers passing through on their way north.

This area is always worth a visit. We will visit the Meromictic Lake, walk the boardwalk and then head out to meet up with main Bruce Trail and then circle the southern edge of the property and visit the lookout before heading back to the centre with an option to take a look at the Indian Village.
