    Description

Bruce Trail ranges from fields to rocky slopes.  On this hike we’ll hike over various terrain ranging from difficult rocky wooded trail to gentle slopes over open meadow.  Starting at the lower parking lot at Crawford Lake we’ll take the Bruce Side trail down into the valley then back up a very rocky section of the main trail, following the escarpment to the lookout then continue to follow the Bruce Trail until the junction of the Crawford lake forest trail back to the centre where you can enjoy the Iroquoian village reconstruction.  Trail may be adjusted according to weather.   We will take it slow over the rocky bits and keep to a gentle pace.   Wear good hiking boots to help with grip on rocky trail. Poles recommended to help with balance and when rocks are slippery.  This is a good hike for those wanting to try more difficult sections at a gentle pace.  Bring snacks and water.  There are washrooms available, indoor ones open at 10 am. There is a place to have lunch if you want to stay and enjoy the interpretive section of  the park.  Map 11 in your Bruce Trail Guide.

Entrance fee for those without a Conservation Halton annual pass. Please note that you get a discount when you purchase an annual pass with your Bruce Trail membership. Its well worth it to support the conservation areas that protect our trail.  Your pass will let a vehicle in without needing to pay for individuals.  We will be arriving before the gate opens so self payment is required along with exact payment without a pass.  Come early to complete payment form as well as registering.   Adults are $7.75, Seniors (65+ yrs) are $6.75.

Registration not required but it helps so we know how many are coming. Please contact me for more information Bron brontreg@cogeco.ca or 905-637-7136. Co-leader Melissa Hawrylyshyn m.hawrylyshyn@gmail.com    Cancelled in high winds, thunderstorms or very heavy rain/snow.
