    Description

    We will shuttle to Mount Nemo (km 88.2 Map 10)then hike 10 km to our cars stopping for lunch along the river. This may be lengthened by adding the 2.5 River and Ruin loop.

    Description

    Meet at the Dundas Valley Trail Centre parking lot- the lot closest to the Trail Centre.  The entrance to the Trail Centre is located off Governors Road, Dundas.  Parking fee or Hamilton Conservation Authority pass.  Beginning at the Trail Centre we will hike two loops involving the Spring Creek, John White, Sawmill, Sulphur Creek and Main Trails.  Some hills.  Hiking boots. water, snack.  Hike Leader Janina Vanderpost 905-521-2296 kayakhiker1@gmail.com

    History of Crooks Hollow Walk

    Description

    Part of IBTC education series. Join local historian enthusiast Rosemary Horsewood as she leads us on a walk through this once busy industrial area dating back to 1803.  We’ll start at Crooks Hollow dam and walk back to Crooks Hollow to point out the Miller’s houses then walk along Spencer’s Creek and talk about Darnley Grist Mill, Bullocks Corner and houses that still stand from this period.

    PLEASE NOTE Highway # 8 has a washed out section so you will not be able to take normal route up #8.  Please check Google map or some other direction app to figure out your route or call me 905-637-7136

    Meet at Crooks Hollow Parking Lot on south side left if heading west on Crooks Hollow Road just past 745 Crooks Hollow Raod. GPS 43°16’36.6″N 80°00’03.4”W   Arrive at 8:45 am for sign-in, introductions and instructions. LIMIT 20 people.  Please register with hike leader Bron brontreg@cogeco.ca 905-637-7136, 

    Bring snacks and water and be aware that if the weather is warm biting insects may still be around.  Ticks are also in our area.
