Description

Join us on hike in the Dundas Valley. We will take in part of the Bruce Trail and several DVCA trails.  Lots of ups and downs and waterfalls.  Please bring a warm drink, water, a snack for “elevensies”, lunch, hiking boots, poles and lots of smiles.  Entrance fee to DVCA in effect at gate.  Please arrive at 9:00 to be ready to hike at 9:15.  We will hike two loops to allow folks to drop out after the first 10 kms if they would like.

Lavender to Black Bank Shuttle Hike

Location (Google Maps): Meet at roadside parking on Centre Rd between 20 Sideroad and County Rd 21 (Dufferin Hi-Land Map 21, 46.7 – Edition 31) by 9:30. We will then shuttle north to Lavender Cemetery (54.9) to begin our hike. Carpool option: Meet at Super Burger, corner of Hwy 10 and Prince of Wales Rd, at 8:45.

Description

On this springtime hike, we will traverse along roads, road allowances, open fields, forests, a ravine and a couple of rushing rivers, situated at the north section of Dufferin Hi-Land trails.  Please come prepared for the weather and bring lunch/snacks.

Description

This is our annual “fundraiser” 2 Day End-to-End “Red Trillium” Badge hike.  Check points along the route will refresh and supply you while experienced “Sweeps” will encourage you! Come and enjoy Springtime in Dufferin and experience the majestic views afforded from the “High Lands”. Not open to children under 13 years of age.

Spring Wildflowers and Trees - Splitrock Narrows Nature Reserve

Description

Join members of the DHBTC Biodiversity Committee and Bruce Trail Conservancy Ecologists to help plant trees at the recently established Pine River Parking Lot.  The area surrounding the parking lot requires some natural restoration.  We will be pulling burdock plants and replacing them with a variety of native tree species.

If time permits, a short hike of the area will occur after planting.

Please bring water, sturdy boots or shoes and gloves if you have them.   Shovels will be provided.

Please join us for the first of a series of hikes to cover all the Side Trails in the beautiful Dufferin Hi-Land section.  This hike is strenuous but rewarding given the many hills.  Hiking boots mandatory.  Please bring bug spray and wear long sleeves and pants.  Please also bring 2L of water, a lunch and a smile.  Special guest Dufferin Hi-Land club president, hike leader and BTC webmaster, Tom Thayer.

Primrose Loop Side Trail to Murphy's Pinnacle

Dufferin Hi-land. Map 20. Meet at roadside parking on Prince of Wales Rd. (County Rd. 19) where the Primrose Loop Side Trail crosses Prince of Wales Rd. From Primrose (intersection of Hwy 10 and 89) drive north for about 1.5 km. Parking is about 0.7 km north of the bridge on the east side of the road.

Description

We will hike the Primrose Loop Side Trail on the west side of Prince of Wales Rd. Then, after crossing the road and returning to the cars, we will head toward the Main Trail where we will turn left towards Murphy’s Pinnacle, climb to the top and take in the view. We will then return to Prince of Wales Rd. The short hike will end after completing the Primrose Loop Side Trail. Bring water and snacks.

Niagara E2E #1: Quarry Road to Grimsby

Join us on this shuttle hike to begin our Friday treks across the beautiful Niagara Section.  Mud, rocks and slippery slopes guaranteed.  Please bring a garbage bag and an extra pair of footwear for the drive back.  Boots mandatory.  Hiking poles recommended.  Please wear a hat, long sleeves and long pants and bring a head net for the bugs (just in case), 2.5L of water, a snack, a lunch, bug spray and sunscreen.
