What better way to start the New Year? We have three hikes planned – long, medium and short. This hike is the long one at 17 kms. The short and medium hikes run by longstanding club members Bryan and Carol Foley and Les Babbage will be posted separately for separate sign-up. All three hikes will end back at Mono Centre at 3:30 pm or so for seasonal refreshments and good cheer. Please bring along any seasonal leftovers you may have to share. Hot chocolate for all! We really hope you can make it. Please dress in warm layers for the weather. Icers and hiking boots are a must. Poles recommended. Please also bring a smile as always, a warm drink, some water, a snack and a lunch. Please arrive at 9:15 am to be ready to hike at 9:30 am.

It contains fragile wetlands, areas of natural hardwood and mixed forest, meadows and open flood plain. Snow shoes or icers may be required.

Black Bank hill usually has a very large snow drift at the top of the hill at this time of year. Snowshoes may be essential. Icers could be required depending on conditions. Bring water and snacks.

Option to continue across 1st Line to Rock Hill loop. Lots of hills, streams and crevices. Dress for winter conditions. Snowshoes and/or icers required. Hike leaders will contact registered hikers a day or two before the hike to advise on trail conditions and any weather alerts. Bring water, snacks and lunch.

We will return along the same trail. The shorter hike will turn around at Hwy 7. Bring snack. Poles and icers recommended, snowshoes may be needed. Follow this road to the end, then enter the gates leading to the parking lot. Paid entrance by credit card at the gate. Please note that the Bruce Trail app if used will take you to a different Dundas Valley parking lot. Use Google to find Lions Club Road and proceed as instructed above. The short hike will cut off on the 2nd Line Side Trail and walk south of 2nd Line to the cars. Snowshoes or ices will likely be required. Bring water snacks and dress warmly for the weather.

Directions ; Coming north on Hwy 10 turn right on 25 Sideroad ( approx. 14 km north of Orangeville ) then right on 1st Line EHS follow to end. NOTE Parking is very limited if you can car pool with someone that would be a great help BE CAREFUL OF THE DITCHES! Bring water, Headlamp, Icers, Snowshoes, Dress for the conditions
