    Location (Google Maps): Dufferin Hi-Land, Map 21. Meet at roadside parking on Prince of Wales Rd, about 1 km south of County Rd 21, where the Main Trail turns east from the road (Km 45.3).

    Description

    We will hike the Main Trail to Km 48.8 and back. The route features a large snowdrift at the top of Black Bank hill. Snowshoes will be required. Depending on conditions, icers may be required. Dress for winter conditions. Bring water, snacks and lunch. Hike leaders will contact all registered hikers a day or two before the hike to advise of trail conditions and any weather alerts.

    Location (Google Maps): Location: Meet at the Mono Community Centre parking lot, 200 m south of Mono Centre, Dufferin County Road 8

    Directions: Drive north on Hwy 10 past Orangeville. Continue to Mono Centre Road/ Dufferin Road 8 at Camilla. Turn right and follow this road into Mono Centre. The Community Centre parking lot is on your right, about 200 meters before you reach the crossroads.

    Description

    Warm up for Mono Winterfest with a morning hike by the ponds of the Whitetail Refuge Nature Reserve and Mono Cliffs. We aim to have you back at the Mono Community Centre for the start of Winterfest at noon. There will be an opportunity to leave the hike after about 3 km as we pass by Mono Centre Park. Please dress for the weather and have your icers ready.

    Description

    Join us in the snow on the main trail and the Canada Goose Side Trail to Speyside and back from Limehouse.  Snow likely to be deep.  Please bring snowshoes and icers. Please also dress in layers and bring water, a warm drink, a snack and a lunch.  Check the BTC website for what should be in your backpack.  Please be ready to snowshoe at 10:00 sharp.  Please remember hiking in the snow is much more strenuous that regular hiking.  Please be honest with yourself about your fitness level.  No drop outs.  We will walk on water a bit.  It will be frozen.

    Description

    We will hike north along the Main Trail through a wooded area, cross The Grange Sideroad, and continue to the Credit River bridge crossing on McLaren Rd, and return. The shorter hike will turn around at The Grange Sideroad. Car pooling is recommended due to limited parking. Those wishing to carpool, please meet at Party City in Orangeville at 8:45. Bring icers, poles and snack. Snowshoes may be helpful.
