    Description

    From km 31.7, we will walk to the viewing platform and return to the trail to follow the main trail to km 26.0, walk east along Ganaraska Trail, North on Concession Road 8 in Glen Huron. Just past Station Street, we turn west to follow the Mad River Side Trail, then join the main trail at km 30.6 and return north to the parking lot.

    Directions: From CR 124 and HW 89, north on CR 124 to Singhampton, continue east on CR124 to Devil’s Glen Provincial Parking entrance on the right.

    Hikers completing all 4 hikes in this series will be eligible to purchase the Rim to Rim Badge from Blue Mountains BTC. You can also make up any hikes you aren’t able to attend or register for by completing the hike yourself at a more convenient time.

    Description

    Join us for two days of hiking the rolling hills of Dufferin County. Enjoy the spring flowers while earning your Red Trillium Badge. Hike distances are approximately 29km on Day 1 and 26km on Day 2. There will be checkpoints along the hike with volunteers providing assistance, refreshments and snacks. Registration is $55 for members and $65 for non-members, which includes shuttle bus service, checkpoint snacks and refreshments, Red Trillium Badge (must complete full hike to earn badge), and post-hike refreshments. Space is limited so register early!

    Join us on our 4th in a series of five Humane Hiking hikes to complete the Caledon Hills section.  Today we take in the Cheltenham Badlands and the Forks of the Credit.  Some road walking required but lots of time in the woods too.  Some hills for sure but nothing remotely like the Hockley Valley!  Please bring 2.5L of water, bug spray, a garbage bag and extra pair of shoes for the shuttle, a snack, a lunch, an appreciation of nature and a smile.

    Hike will begin at roadside parking on 30th Sideroad (map 20, 13.3). We will hike south along the main trail through a mix of forests and fields to 1st Line EHS  (map 19, 10.0). We will then return along the same trail. Terrain is mostly flat with a few moderate hills. Please bring water and snack.

    Description

    Join us on the first of a series of hikes to complete a Beaver Valley Section E2E.  This hike is very long at 24.5 kms but the rest of the hikes will be about 15 kms each to accommodate the more difficult terrain in the valley itself.  While our first hike is long we will be hiking it at a Humane Hiking pace (or as a very accomplished Toronto section hike leader once said – an “all day” pace) and we will stopping regularly to rest and hydrate.  Please make sure you are ready to shuttle at 8:00 am sharp.  A local overnight stay is recommended given the early start.  Please bring 3L of water, a lunch, snacks, bug spray, sun block, an appreciation of nature and a smile.  Hiking boots mandatory.  Gaiters and poles recommended.  Please bring a change of footwear and a garbage bag for the shuttle given the anticipated mud in spots along the way.  No dropouts.  Please be honest with your ability to hike the 24.5 km distance.

Otherwise meet at the parking area at km 27.9, 100 meters south of where the Main Trail crosses the 10th Line on the east side for a 9:30 start.

    Description

    We will hike through the Duncan Cave Provincial Nature Reserve and the Chuck Grant Side Trail/Main Trail Loop. The short hike will end at the parking area at km 33.3 and car shuttle back to Metcalfe Rock parking.

    Bring lunch, water and snacks. Sunscreen, insect repellant and hiking poles are recommended.
