Description

We will meet at the roadside parking on Dunby Rd, and hike south along the Main trail for 2.5 km. We will then follow the Cam Snell Side Trail loop (2km), and return on the Main trail. For those wishing a shorter hike, return to the parking before the Side Trail (4km). Please come prepared for the weather. Snowshoes, icers and/or poles may be needed. Bring snack.

Location (Google Maps): Dick’s Dam Park in Bolton. For car pooling, meet at parking on east side of Party City/Winners building, Hwy10 and 4th Ave. in Orangeville at 8:30 am. Or from King Street and Hwy 50 (Queen St.) in downtown Bolton, drive north on Queen St. (Hwy 50) and in 0.5 km cross the bridge over the Humber River. Turn left on Hickman St., then right on Glasgow Rd. Follow Glasgow Rd. around the bend to parking on your left at Dick’s Dam Park for a 9:30 am start.

Description

We will hike about 4.5 km along the Humber River to the parking lot at Duffy’s Lane and Emil Kolb Pkwy and then return by the same route for a total of 9 km. The short hike will end at the parking lot at Duffy’s Lane  and Emil Kolb Pkwy for a car shuttle back to Dick’s Dam.

Icers are recommended. Bring lunch , water and snacks. If the snow is deep, snow shoes may be required.

Description

We will be exploring the winter wonders that the Pine River Nature Reserve offers.

This is a snowshoe hike so please be sure to bring your snowshoes.  Should the weather not behave and snow is not in abundance, we will still do the hike but icer’s would be recommended in this case as there is sure to still be icy patches within the reserve.

Bring snowshoes, icers, mitts, hats, food, and dress according to the weather.  To see the current conditions on the day of the hike, click here to access a weather station that is 5 minutes from the reserve.

Beginning at Coolihans Sideroad we will hike south along the main trail, through The Dingle, to roadside parking on Innis Lake Rd. Short hike will return at the intersection of the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail. Vehicles will be shuttled to the end of the hike. Bring icers, snowshoes and /or poles, depending on conditions. Bring snack.

We will hike the Main Trail to the Oliver Creek Loop, returning by way of Moss Haven Side Trail and Main Trail. Option to continue across 1st Line to Rock Hill loop. Hike leaders will contact registered hikers a day or two before the hike to advise on trail conditions and any weather alerts. Bring water, snacks and lunch.

Or meet at Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area on 15/16 Sideroad Nottawasaga at 9:30 am. From Singhampton, take Mill Town Road to Ewing Road to Sideroad 17/18 to Concession Road 10 to Sideroad 15/16. Parking will be on your right. Meet in Lowville Park, 6207 Lowville Park Rd. Burlington. Meet in the parking lot. NOTE: The parking lot is gated, but there is no charge to park here. Just drive up to the gate and the arm will rise automatically.

Description

We will hike the trails through Lowville Park, then cross Guelph Line to access the River and Ruin Side Trail and Maple Cross Nature Reserve. The trail connects to the main trail; so we will also hike the main trail there and back between No. 8 Sideroad and Britannia Rd. At the end of the hike, there is the option to take about 1/2 hour and wander through the sculpture garden.

Bring, water and snacks, Poles, icers and gators recommended.
