The parking lot is located south of Hockley Road at 5th Line EHS. Take Hwy 10 north and just north of Orangeville turn right (east) on Hockley Road. Drive 7 km and turn right on 5th Line to the parking lot on your left. At km 50.4 we will travel through the Glacier Valley Side Trail back to the Main Trail. Heading west to km 55.2, we will then hike east through the Griffith Ravine Side Trail to rejoin the Main Trail for the return to the parking area via the Hemlock Ridge Side Trail. The short hike will complete the Glacier Valley Side Trail loop and return to the parking lot. Bring lunch, water and snacks

Suggest coming via Prince of Wales north from intersection of Hwy 89 and Hwy 10 to River Road, then right (east) to Centre Road. Centre Road south of Prince of Wales is steep and poorly maintained. We will hike the Pine River Valley and Carl Alexander Side Trails which are newly created trails with lots of hills in the forest. We will start with the Kilgorie Side Trail in the forest and end with the main trail along the Pine River. Bring hiking boots, poles, lots of water, snacks and lunch. Hikers completing all 8 hikes in this series will be eligible to purchase the Dufferin Hi-Land BTC Side Trail Badge. You can also make up any hikes you aren’t able to attend or register for by completing the hike yourself at a more convenient time.

We will hike the main trail, check out Bell Lookout, take the main trail to Pine River Valley and Carl Alexander Side Trails, catch the Main trail again and onto the Meladonna Side Trail and return via Kilgorie Side Trail. Highlights include beautiful streams, the Pine River Lake, forests and more forests! Bring hiking boots, poles, water, snacks and lunch. Hikers completing all 7 hikes in this series will be eligible to purchase the Dufferin Hi-Land BTC Side Trail Badge ($10 for BTC members, $15 for non-members). You can also make up any hikes you aren’t able to attend or register for by completing the hike yourself at a more convenient time.

Meet at roadside parking on Prince of Wales Rd (County Rd 19) where the Primrose Loop Side Trail crosses Prince of Wales Rd. From Primrose (intersection of Hwy 10 and 89) drive north on Prince of Wales Rd for about 1.5 km. Parking is about 0.7 km north of the bridge on the west side of the road. Those opting for the longer hike will then continue around the Primrose Loop Side Trail. Bring water and snacks.

From King Street and Hwy 50 (Queen Street) drive east on King Street for 0.4 km and turn left onto Humber Lea Rd. Go up the hill to Kingsview Drive and turn right. After 0.4 km, turn left onto Kingsview Drive. The trailhead is located just past the stop sign on your right at the Kingsview Drive and Longwood Drive intersection. Park on Kingsview Drive.
