Location (Google Maps): Caledon Hills Section, Map 18. Meet at roadside parking on the south side of Dunby Rd (Km 68.0). From Hwy 10, drive east on Mono Centre Rd. Where the road bends sharply north, turn right/east onto 2nd Line EHS, Mono, then left/east onto Dunby Rd. Parking is about .5 km east, where the Main Trail crosses a stile to the south.

Location (Google Maps): Dufferin Hi-Land Section, Map 19. Meet at the end of 2nd Line EHS, Mono, about 1 km north of Mono Centre. From Hwy 10, drive east, then north on Mono Centre Rd. Continue north from the stop sign in Mono Centre to the end of the road. Park on the east shoulder of the roadway.

Take Hwy 124 north from Shelburne for 15 km and turn right on Dufferin Road 21. Head east for 4 km and then right on Prince of Wales Rd. The meeting place is 1 km ahead.

Location (Google Maps): Dufferin Hi-Land Section, Map 21. Meet at roadside parking on Centre Rd, about 1 km south of Dufferin Rd 21 (Km 47.5). From Hwy 89 at Shelburne, drive north on County Rd 124 to County Rd 21 at Redickville. Turn right/east and drive through Honeywood. In about 2 km turn right/south on Centre Rd. Park on the east side where the trail leaves the road to the east.

We will hike the Main Trail east and north to where it crosses County Rd 21 and back. The main challenge is a huge snowdrift that accumulates at the top of the hill down to Black Bank Creek. A second challenge is the climb back up this hill at the end of the hike. The shorter hike will turn back where the Main Trail turns east at the top on the east side of the valley. We will hike the Main Trail north to the Airport Road crossing, returning by way of the Hockleycrest and Harmony Side Trails. The shorter hike will return by way of the Hockleycrest Shortcut and Hockleycrest and Harmony Side Trails. This area is shared with cross-country ski trails. Our route may vary in order to stick to trails where hiking/snowshoeing is allowed in winter. Bring icers, water and snack. Snowshoes may be required.
