Welsh Tract

Description

Due to warnings of FREEZING RAIN, BLOWING SNOW AND HIGH WINDS, THIS HIKE IS CANCELLED.

Welsh Tract Loop hike exploring Secret Pond, nice intimate trail that’s concealed through thick forest and has wonderful views.  Muddy sections, so bring waterproof boots. Small parking area at entrance.

Hockley Valley - Glen Cross/Isabel East

Description

We will car pool to roadside parking where Glen Cross Side Trail meets 3rd Line EHS and hike a loop composed of the Glen Cross and Isabel East Side Trails and the Main Trail.

Black Bank

Description

We will hike out to km 51.1, the unopened 1st Line road allowance, then back to the cars. This hike offers pretty river photo opportunities. Bring, snacks and adequate water. Hiking shoes or boots recommended.

Scotsdale Farm

Description

Loop Hike– We will take the Main Trail to the Boyne Valley Side Trail, looping back on the Main Trail with a side trip up Murphy’s Pinnacle. This hike offers hills, crosses streams, beautiful forests and pretty vistas.  Please bring snacks and adequate water.  Hiking shoes or boots recommended (possibly icers or snowshoes depending on the weather).

Island Lake Loop

We will hike the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail loop.

Description

We start the hike on the Primrose Loop , west of County Rd. 19, crossing the road and continuing 1 km to Murphy’s Pinnacle. This is a 5.3 km (approx. 1 1/4 hr.) hike suitable for families and hikers wishing to do a shorter hike.  For the longer hike, we continue to km 23.9 and back returning on the Boyne Valley Side Trail. Bring lunch, snacks ,water, appropriate dress and footwear. Snowshoes may be required, call if in doubt. Well behaved dogs welcome, “turkey sandwiches NOT welcome” Pub stop to follow.
