    We will explore Valleyview and Maple View parks, and  walk  along  German Mill Creak, in return we stop in Huntington park and have snack under beautiful shed.

    Although this is considered an “Urban Walk”, you can expect some hills up and down and uneven surfaces with tree roots. Please bring hiking poles,   water and snacks.

    Location (Google Maps): Our hike will begin from the parking lot of Old Baldy. km 43.9, Map 25, Edition 31. Any hike participants who do not have a parking pass for Grey Sauble CA can park on the shoulder of Sideroad 7B by the bend in the road and then be shuttled to the parking lot.

    Description

    Not Wednesday! To avoid Canada Day. Tuesday! Our hike takes us atop Old Baldy, the iconic outcrop. The Trail is well-used, the pathway often being “roots and rocks”. There will be a number of lookout spots to view into and across the Beaver Valley. We will hike along the main Trail and then turn back when we reach the road allowance part of the Trail. On the way back we will walk on the Mac Kirk Side Trail, under a canopy of deciduous trees.

    Description

    Tuesday evening WINS hikes begin at 6:30 p.m. as a way to enjoy the daylight and nice weather of summer evenings.  Explore the Beaver Springs Side Trail which circles through varied forest including maples and cedars that line the trail as it passes through ecologically-rich Beaver Springs Wetland, a Bruce Trail Conservancy Protected Natural Area.  The trail crosses a pretty creek valley, a tributary of Keefer Creek, whose fresh, clean water originates in the Beaver Springs Wetland.
