You will need your cell phone for this hike. We will look for orchids, ferns and birds to use towards the badges offered by the Peninsula Bruce Trail Club. I will show you how to use the Merlin and iNaturalis as well as Seek apps on your phone so please download them before you arrive. You will also need to take photos of any specimen we find.
This is a loop hike so we will start and stop in the same location. Please arrive before 7:30 so we can set off at 7:30 sharp. Please carpool to our meeting location if you can.
Please bring your Bruce Grey Orchid and Fern books if you have them.
Ensure you bring plenty of water, snacks and first aid kit.
There will be lots of stopping as we make our way from the parking lot along the access trail to the main trail, Whippoorwill St, Walter Brewer St, Alan Fowler St, White Bluff St and then back to the parking lot. These Side Trails can also count towards your Side Trails badge.
Bring bug spray, sunscreen, a brimmed hat, sturdy shoes and poles, if you use them.Hiking 101 June 5, 12, 19, 2023
