Each Friday we will explore different neighbourhoods, trails and parkland throughout Historic Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Moderate pace with some weeks entirely on sidewalks and roads while others may include a mix of trails and paved pathways. Great way to build up endurance for longer more strenuous hikes.
Plan to stay for conversation and a warm cup of coffee or tea at Sweets & Swirls, Community Centre, Niagara Stone Road, NOTL

We will hike 2.5 km in and return via the side trails. Our goal is to listen for birds, watch for trees, plants, flowers. We recommend that participants download Merlin, Seek and/or iNaturalist apps to their phones. We will show participants how to use these apps for identification of birds, plants, trees. Families welcome!

Join me for leisurely evening walk south to Fort York and Trillium Park (east end of former Ontario Place site) featuring the Winter Light exhibition, Lumiere: The Art Of Light celebrating the change of seasons from Winter to Spring. Admission to the light exhibition is free. From Trillium Park we’ll walk to the Dufferin Gates TTC Loop for the bus or streetcar. While we hope that it will be more Spring than Winter bring a jacket/warmer layers for possible cooler evening temperatures.
