    Description

    We will drive to Roadside parking at km113.6 on the Euphrasia-St. Vincent Townline in the Beaver Valley Section. To begin our hike we will go north and then east across the height of land that separates the Beaver River Valley and Bighead River Valley. The trail meanders through cultivated fields and hardwood bush with crevices & great views to the north. We will retrace our steps once we reach km108.4 at Grey Rd 40 Bring a snack or lunch and water!

    A beautiful hike on the trail.  Hiking boots and poles highly recommended as the terrain can be extremely slippery if wet.  Please bring water and dress in layers and bug spray.

    Description

    Hike will start at 9:30 behind Kilbride Public School at the park.

    We will hike the side trail to River and Ruin and then the loop, seeing the new Dan Welsh plaque and bird house and also the ruin. It is approx 8.5 km.

    Please bring water and snack.

    Location (Google Maps): Inside Jack Layton Ferry Terminal, Queens Quay West, Foot of Bay Street. From Union Station take the LRT to the stop Ferry Docks. Or take bus number #19 or #72 along Bay Street southbound to the ferry docks.Walk up to Queen Quay West street level and walk southbound to the ferry docks.

    Description

    After a day’s work, come and “cool off” on the Toronto Islands free of fumes and traffic to enjoy the view of the city skyline and Toronto’s own beautiful island parkland oasis away from the city. Pack a dinner for a sitdown picnic. Food is not available for purchase on the islands early in the season. Also bring a warm jacket and flashlight. Return ticket for the ferry is approximately $10, less for seniors. Hike will take place rain or shine. Toronto Island Evening Hikes will take place every Thursday in May and June, same time and meeting place.

    Description

    2022 Falling Water Trail Badge Event

    New time of year! Saturday, June 4, 2022.

    Come and test your mettle! This is a 30.5 km hike that traverses the beautiful, rugged upper Beaver Valley. It’s a challenging hike during which you’ll experience all that spring has to offer, including cascading creeks and waterfalls.

    Registrants should have experience with hiking long distances over strenuous terrain. Registration will be through the Bruce Trail Conservancy Online Calendar and will open at 7:00 a.m. on March 1, 2022. The $25.00 registration fee covers the cost of the online registration fee, check point refreshments and the badge.
