- All kms. mentioned are according to maps in Edition 29 of The Bruce Trail Reference.
- Please arrive 10 minutes before start of hike.
- Participants are expected to wear appropriate attire for the weather and the terrain. In summer, sturdy footwear is necessary. In winter, snowshoes or icers/crampons are needed when conditions dictate. It is a good idea to bring these items if there is snow on the ground and the hike leader will advise you as to the best footwear for the day. Hiking poles are a good idea in any season, especially if the terrain is rocky or slippery. Wearing appropriate clothing and footwear prevents injuries and shows consideration for a safe and positive group hiking experience.
- Always carry I.D. and your health card.
- For spring and summer hikes bring sunscreen, insect repellent and water.
- Please leave dogs at home.

This loop hike takes us along a wooded piece of the escarpment and through an old limestone quarry (pre-dynamite days) on a piece of the Bruce Trail. We’ll meet at the Bruce Trail crossing on Quarry Rd. above Beamsville. To get there, take the QEW east to Ontario St. in Beamsville. Exit onto Ontario St. and take Ontario to King St. in downtown Beamsville. Turn left on King St. and go 2 km to Quarry Rd. on your right. Turn right on Quarry Rd. and drive to the top of the escarpment where you’ll find a wide shoulder bordering a chain link fence on your right. Park in the ample space beside the fence.
Wear hiking boots and bring water. For something a little stronger than water, we’ll go for a pub stop in Beamsville after the hike.
