Description
Please join us in hiking the Caldeon section over 4 Sundays in April and May. We will be hiking northbound. Each day we will be meeting at the end point and then shuttling to the starting point. Each days route is below.
We will be hiking in spring so please be prepared for a mix of weather, pack rain gear, sweater, icers, and extra socks. Bring enough water for 4 to 5 hours, snacks and lunch.
For those interested in badges, costs are 10 for members and 15 for non-members. Please visit the clubs badge page to see the two E2E badges that are available. I will coordinate ordering and picking up badges for the group.
Anyone coming from Niagara or Iroqouia sections please consider car pooling. Message me and I will make connections to rides.

Location (Google Maps): Take Hwy 10 north through Orangeville. Just north of Orangeville turn right on Hockley Rd. After one km Hockley Rd. swings to the left but continue straight on 5 Sideroad for about 2 km and then turn left on 1st Line EHS. Follow for 1 km directly to parking area. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO COME SOUTH FROM HOCKLEY RD. ON 1st LINE EVEN THOUGH THE MAP MAY SHOW IT. INSTEAD COME NORTH ON 1st LINE FROM 5 SIDEROAD.

Starting at the top of the Caledon Hills section in the village of Mono Centre, we will hike the main trail and around the Turnbull and Springwater Side Trails and back. Bring icers just in case there is still ice on the trails. Bring water and a snack as needed.

Description
“There and back” on both the Main Trail and the Rockside Side Trail, about 3.8 km, with some hills and rugged sections. Hiking poles can be a great help. The pace will be slow at times with numerous stops to observe the spring ephemerals, listen to bird song and take photos. Bring your binoculars, camera and cellphone. Apps like Merlin, Seek, and iNaturalist will help identify flora and fauna along the route.

This is the first hike of a series to complete the Beaver Valley Section going from the north to the south. It includes Anthea’s Waterfall, hardwood bush, fields and deep crevices.

Will hike around Island Lake, may take few diversions into the side trails for a total of 11-12 km, completing a loop around the lake. Will be watching for birds, other wild life in the lake and enjoy the spring season.

Description
Come to one, a few, or all of these hikes to celebrate Caledon’s 60th anniversary! In completing all 5 of these hikes, you’ll qualify for BOTH of Caledon’s NEW badges. On this first of five hikes, we’ll meet at the north end of the Toronto section (due to no parking at the very south end of Caledon) and shuttle to our starting point. We’ll hike through the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park, the Badlands (which may be muddy) and finish with an easy walk back to the vehicles. Although the hike is approximately 18km, there will be about 6km of road walking. If the Spirit Tree Cidery is open, you may wish stop by after the hike.
We’ll stop for a short snack break and also a lunch break, so please bring enough food to last the hike, 2L of water, bug repellent, and proper hiking attire. Hiking boots/shoes are mandatory. It may be rainy so ensure you have rain gear with you.

We will hike 14 km through the Nature Preserve, one of the most challenging (hilliest) parts of the Bruce Trail. A great aerobic outing plus we should see lots of spring flowers along the way. After the hike I invite those interested to stop at the Hockley Valley Resort for refreshments.
To get to the meeting point drive north of Hwy 10 from Orangeville to Hockley Road. Turn right and go about 5 km east to the parking area on your left. It is across the road from the Black Birch restaurant.

Join Joyce, Louise, and Marilyn on this 2 hour, 6 km hike which is the 3rd in the series of hikes for the new “60 for the 60th Anniversary” badge. We will hike southeast toward Airport Rd. and back. Hike one, a few, or all 10 hikes. Join any hike and make up the rest on your own as long as a record is kept of their hikes to submit on completion to obtain their badge. Participants who complete all 10 hikes will be eligible to purchase the “60 for the 60th” badge.
