We will hike south on the Main Trail to the Glen Haffy Side Trail then follow the side trail to Townline Rd. Return by the same route for a total of 11 km. We will cover 6.8 km of trails in Caledon Section that can be counted toward the “60 for 60th Anniversary” badge.

February is Black History month. Within the Conservation Area there are historic ruins and buildings to visit and stories to remember. There are waterfalls we can hike to, and Valentine treats to share. Meet at 9:45 AM in the parking area on Artaban Rd. as described above. There is a per car parking fee, so ride share if you can. The hike is about 12 km in length and will take about 4 hours. We will walk the trails to the waterfalls, visit the historic sites and have lunch in the wild, or the visitors centre, dependent on the weather. Dress for the weather, poles and icers recommended as the trails may be slippery. Bring lunch, snacks, beverage of choice.

Distance: 14 km Description The hike will follow the main trail south from the parking lot until the Dufferin Quarry bridge, then turn around and hike back to our cars. It is out and back, so if the conditions are poor or we feel like we have had enough, we will turn around early. Bring snacks and lunch. Also hiking poles and icers are recommended.

Please note the 10 am start time to accommodate potential winter driving conditions. This 8.8 km Forest Bathing hike will take us south on the main Bruce Trail, from Dunby Rd. through a pleasant re-forested area with scenic views, to the forests of the Hockley Valley Nature Reserve and the junction with the Isabel East Side Trail. We then head back north and take the Cam Snell Side Trail, observing the state of the stream in winter, before turning east through woodlands to re-join the main Bruce Trail and return to our start point. Key words for this walk could be forest, stream, some long steepish sections and learn why this is called the Cam Snell Side Trail! We will hope for good weather for driving and hiking. Bring beverage and lunch. Be prepared to bring icers and/or snowshoes, as required for trail conditions. This hike qualifies for earning the much coveted, artistic CHBTC 60th combo anniversary badges. Potential coffee/snack/lunch cafe stop to warm up after the hike.
