    Location (Google Maps): Meet at roadside parking on Coolihans Sideroad, east of where the Trail crosses the road. 43.937967, -79.934650

    Directions: From ON-10 head east for 8.0 km. Turn left onto Airport Rd./Peel Regional Rd. 7 and drive for 2.0 km. Turn right onto Coolihans Side Rd. Parking is in 1.5 km.

    Pace: Medium – 3 to 4 km/hour
    Terrain: Strenuous – hilly with steep climbs and some poor footing
    Distance: 12 kilometres

    Description

    Register individually for one, a few, or all of the Frosty 5 and 60 for the 60th Anniversary Badge Combo hikes. Participants who complete five hikes will be eligible to receive a CHBTC Winter badge and a 60th Anniversary badge. This hike explores MT and the Glen Haffy Side Trail. Bring your choice of hydration and snacks. Hiking boots and icers/crampons are required. Hikes in the series take place on select Wednesdays and Sundays. (Note:  If you wish to purchase badges, the cost of each badge is $10.00 for BTC members and $15.00 for non-members.)

    Location (Google Maps): Meet at the parking lot on 5 Sideroad. Map 18 km 45.4. Take Airport Rd north. Cross Hwy 9 and in 4 km turn right on 5 Sideroad. Drive 400 meters to parking on left. BTC Maps 17 and 18.

    Terrain: Flat, Hilly
    Distance: 11 km

    Description

    We will hike south on the Main Trail to the Glen Haffy Side Trail then follow the side trail to Townline Rd. Return by the same route for a total of 11 km.

    We will cover 6.8 km of trails in Caledon Section that can be counted toward the “60 for 60th Anniversary” badge.

    Description

    February is Black History month. Within the Conservation Area there are historic ruins and buildings to visit and stories to remember.

    There are waterfalls we can hike to, and Valentine treats to share.

    Meet at 9:45 AM in the parking area on Artaban Rd. as described above. There is a per car parking fee, so ride share if you can.

    The hike is about 12 km in length and will take about 4 hours. We will walk the trails to the waterfalls, visit the historic sites and have lunch in the wild, or the visitors centre, dependent on the weather.

    Dress for the weather, poles and icers recommended as the trails may be slippery. Bring lunch, snacks, beverage of choice.

    Location (Google Maps): Speyside Bruce Trailhead parking lot (Pear Tree Park). Exit Hwy 401 at County Rd. 25, travel north to 15 Sideroad, turn left drive ~200 metres and parking is on the left.

    Terrain: Moderate – some hills and/or some poor footing
    Distance: 14 km

    Description

    The hike will follow the main trail south from the parking lot until the Dufferin Quarry bridge, then turn around and hike back to our cars.
    It is out and back, so if the conditions are poor or we feel like we have had enough, we will turn around early.
    Bring snacks and lunch. Also hiking poles and icers are recommended.
