    Take Highway 410 north, continue on Highway 10, turn left on King Street (9), right on Winston Churchill Blvd., drive 1 kilometre to parking on either side of the road.

    Terrain: Moderate – some hills and/or some poor footing

    Description

    Main Bruce Trail and Terra Cotta Side Trail.
    Bring water, a warm drink is recommended, snack, poles and icers.
    Physical distancing to be maintained to follow COVID guidelines.

    Note: This hike is being offered to accommodate Tuesday Hikers not able to get on Frosty Five and others interested.

    From Airport Road/Peel Regional Road 7 turn east onto 7 Line E/7 Line EHS. Drive for 60 metres.

    Terrain: Strenuous – hilly with steep climbs and some poor footing
    Distance: 11.0 km

    Description

    Plan to join one, a few, or all of our Frosty Five hikes. Participants who complete all five hikes will be eligible to receive the CHBTC Winter Badge on the final hike. Hike three explores parts of the main Trail and Hockleycrest and Darcy’s Side Trails in the south-east Hockley Valley area. Bring your choice of hydration and snacks. Hiking boots and icers/crampons are required. See January 4, January 18, February 15, and March 1 for details pertaining to the other hikes in the series.     Location (Google Maps): Speyside, 15 Sideroad.
    Driving directions: From Highway 401 going west, turn right (north) on Road 25, right on 15 Sideroad, drive about 500 meters and park on roadside close to where the Bruce Trail turns north into the woods; km 12.1

    Terrain: Moderate – some hills and/or some poor footing
    Distance: 13 km

    Description

    Will hike the main Bruce Trail, side trails, Speyside south and north, Vanderleck and part of Canada Goose and return using main trail. Usual COVID precautions are in place; maintaining social distance, keep face mask handy.
    Ensure proper gear for winter, dress in layers, cleats are necessary, gaiters and poles strongly recommended.
    Bring water, snack and a warm drink if you prefer.
    Check email in the morning at 7:30 am for any late cancellation due to weather warning.

    Location (Google Maps): Dundas Valley Conservation Area, main parking lot, 650 Governors Rd. Dundas. Enter from Governors Rd., 3.5 km west of Main St. West in Dundas. A parking fee of $10/car is charged.

    Description

    In honour of Black History month, we will hike the trails through the conservation area and visit Griffin House National Historic Site, purchased by escaped black slaves in 1834. Bring water and snacks, icers, snowshoes if desired.
