    Location (Google Maps): Meet at end point at Lion’s Head Harbour, south of km 82.5. Park on Phillip Forbes St. right on the trail by the beach. Shuttle to start to roadside parking at the south end of Carter Rd. Access to the trail is via a short side trail.

    Pace: Medium – 3 to 4 km/hour
    Terrain: Moderate – some hills and/or some poor footing
    Distance: 15.5 km shuttle hike from km 98.0 to km 82.5

    Description

    There will be poison ivy in this area. Highlights include many good views, Fred Binding Lookout, White Bluff, cliff caves. Lunch around km 88, White Bluff. Please bring water, lunch, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain poncho. Wear appropriate hiking footwear and layer clothing.

    Location (Google Maps): Meet at end point at BTC parking area off of Bruce Rd. 9 in Barrow Bay just south of West Shore Rd. Shuttle to start at Lion’s Head Harbour south of km 82.5.

    Terrain: Strenuous – hilly with steep climbs and some poor footing
    Distance: 15.3 km shuttle hike from km 82.5 to km 67.2

    Description

    There is poison ivy in this area. Highlights include Giant’s Cauldron Pothole Side Trail, Lion’s Head Pothole Side Trail, Isthmus Bay view, glacial erratics. Please bring water, snacks, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain poncho. Wear appropriate hiking footwear and layer clothing. Optional lunch after hike in Lion’s Head.

    Location (Google Maps): Meet at end point at Jackson’s Cove Rd. parking area located at the top of the hill just to the west of the trail. Shuttle to start to BTC parking area at km 67.2 off of Bruce Rd. 9.

    Description

    Poison ivy in this area. Hike involves road walking to start, stairs and ladder up and down the rocky shoreline of Rush Cove and Chris Walker Nature Reserve, Jackson’s Cove Lookout Side Trail.  Please bring hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain poncho, water, lunch. Wear appropriate hiking footwear and layer clothing. Lunch around Jackson’s Cove Lookout.

    Location (Google Maps): Brantford Powerline Rd. west of Oak Park Rd., Grand Valley Trail Carolinian Crest section km 53.3.
    Directions: From Hwy 403 exit 30, go north on Oak Park Rd. 0.5 km, then take Powerline Rd. 23 left (west) 0.8 km to the end.

    Terrain: Easy – mostly flat and usually good footing
    Distance: 14 km loop

    Description

    We’ll hike the Trans Canada Trail, view the Eagle’s Cry plaque about the Six Nations legend of the Peacemaker, and return via the Grand Valley Trail along the Grand River. This is an area of hackberry forest, provincially significant wetlands, and former oak savannah, with several rare plants and animals.
    Afterwards: refreshment/pub stop.
    No dogs, please.
