Join us for a winter wonderland adventure as we hike the Toronto section in three exciting hikes! We will hike North to Southbound, on Hike #1 – Feb 1st we will meet on the east side of the road where the trail crosses the fourth line, do not park in front of the junkyard (43.615163, -79.975157) and we will shuttle to start at Hilton Falls (parking fee at Hilton Falls) A detailed schedule for the full series, with dates and meeting locations, will be provided when you register. This hike series is meant for experienced distance hikers, please keep in mind your ability to join this series. Pack sufficient water and snacks to boost your energy. Wear appropriate attire for the weather conditions and come prepared with icers and snowshoes. Hikers will be contacted the night before if a hike must be canceled due to inclement weather. 2 - Mono Winterfest Scenic Hike

Continue to Mono Centre Road/ Dufferin Road 8 at Camilla. Turn right and follow this road into Mono Centre. The Community Centre parking lot is on your right, about 200 meters before you reach the crossroads. We aim to have you back at the Mono Community Centre for the start of Winterfest at noon. There will be an opportunity to leave the hike after about 3 km as we pass by Mono Centre Park. Please dress for the weather and have your icers ready.

We will hike for about an hour as we follow the trail upriver from Dick’s Dam Park. We’ll stop for a short standing break and then return to the parking lot following the same trail downriver. Be prepared for winter conditions by bringing warm gear, poles, and crampons/icers. You are encouraged to bring water and a snack, if desired. No dogs please. Registrants can expect a reminder/update message one or two days before the hike. For this hike, registrants can bring a friend who is not yet a BTC member. Please send the hike leader a message indicating that a friend will be joining you. A paper registration sheet will be available for your friend to sign in, so please factor that into your arrival time. Following the hike, we’ll stop in at a local eatery. All are welcome.

Continue straight into the parking lot. ***DO NOT take 1st Line EHS south from Hockley Road. It is NOT maintained. Google Maps may suggest this impassable route. Follow the above directions. Alternate: North on Highway 410, continue on Highway 10, at Caledon Village, left on Charleston Sideroad (24), left on Mississauga Rd., drive 2 km to the roadside parking. This Wednesday’s hike is a hilly challenge as we use side trails and the main trail to make a 4 km loop in the Hockley Valley Nature Reserve. Be prepared for winter conditions by bringing warm gear, poles, and icers. You are encouraged to bring water and a snack. No dogs please. The hike leader for this hike is Elizabeth Ganong. Bennett Heritage trail to the main trail. South through forested wetlands with boardwalks. Crossing busy roads, a little road walking then back to woodlands, and along fields before entering Limehouse and the Conservation Area. The trail passes a restored kiln and ruins of an old mill. Limehouse Side Trail to parking. 29.8 to 20.3 + 0.96 side trails = 10.46 km
