Description
Come join this hike which will go between Derry Rd. and Twiss Rd. We will hike through the Yaremko - Ridley Conservation Area , an ecologically significant Ontario Heritage Trust nature reserve and see the Calcium Pits area. These "pits" are a series of ponds lined with marl that was dug up and used in whitewash, tiles and Climax Bug Killer. We'll explore a trail leading into the pits (depending on conditions). Meet in the parking lot at the back of Kilbride Public School at 9:45 am. for a 10:00 am. start. Bring water, a snack and poles if using. There are some rocky areas.
